About TOBIAS

Tenor Tobias Campos started his performing career at the age of eight, singing with the Children’s Choir of Teatro Argentino in numerous operas. He has since appeared as a soloist in productions including Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte and Wagner’s Lohengrin. At eighteen, Tobias made his tenor debut at Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, performing the role of Pollicino’s father in Werner Henze’s Pollicino, as well as appearing in Rossini’s La Cenerentola.

Performing throughout the UK, South America, and Europe, Tobias has appeared at venues such as Teatro Colón, St James’s Piccadilly, Painters’ Hall, Vintners’ Hall, Milton Court Concert Hall, Buxton Opera House, Longborough Opera House and West Road Concert Hall (Cambridge, UK).

Tobias regularly works at opera festivals, including Buxton International Festival in 2022 and 2023, where he took part in productions such as Donizetti’s Viva la Mamma, Rossini’s La donna del Lago, Bellini’s La sonnambula, and the premiere of The Land of Might Have Been with music by Ivor Novello. In 2024, he made his Longborough Festival Opera main-stage debut as Parpignol in Puccini’s La Bohème and also starred as Nemorino in the company’s outreach programme, Playground Opera, bringing L’elisir d’amore to new audiences. He returns to Longborough Festival Opera in the 2026 season to perform the role of Der Junge Seemann and cover Melot in Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde.

On the concert platform, Tobias’s repertoire includes Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Handel’s Messiah, Haydn’s Paukenmesse, Mozart’s Requiem, and Buxtehude’s Membra Jesu Nostri, among others.

A recipient of a full scholarship, Tobias has completed his BMus and MPerf degrees at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London, where he is currently in the final year of the esteemed Opera Course. Recent roles include Heinrich in Ethel Smyth’s Der Wald and Collatino in Respighi’s Lucrezia. He can next be seen as Lechmere in Britten’s Owen Wingrave in spring 2026.
